J. Holiday

J. Holiday. Après avoir créé le groupe 295 il y a quelques années, le jeune homme se consacre désormais à sa carrière solo. Back of my lac, son premier opus, est dans les bacs depuis le 2 octobre dernier.

Fils de pasteur, J. Holiday a reçu une éducation religieuse et rien de plus normal pour lui que d'avoir découvert la musique à l'église : le gospel.

S'inspirant d'artistes tels que Marvin Gaye, Ottis Redding, Sam Cooke ou encore Al Green pour le côté soul, il découvre ensuite le RnB façon années 90 avec entre autres les Boyz II Men. Puis le son hip-hop de chanteurs comme 2Pac, Outkast et Jay-Z ne le laissent pas non plus indifférent.

J. Holiday s'attèle donc à sa passion, la musique, et enregistre un premier single en 2006, Be with me. Il s'entoure des meilleurs pour réaliser son premier album, Back of my lac, notamment Tricky Stewat (producteur de Rihanna).

J. Holiday décrit sa musique comme un mélange de soul oldshool et de hip-hop.
